Antonio's List
2014 is such a blur to me that I don't even know if I can make any substantial comment on this list because I don't remember which episodes aired in the time window. A few thoughts/comments:
ReplyDelete-A very good list! The only thing on here that I can say I really don't like is House of Cards. I found season 2 a little more fun than season 1 because at least it seemed to embrace its stupidity a little more, but wasn't that the season with all that boring China stuff too? Either way, I'm very happy to say I gave up watching this show in 2015. I guess Wilfred counts as another one I don't like, but I didn't watch the season in question so I can't really judge it.
-The only show in the top 20 that I don't watch is 24. I missed the boat on that one. I did get through most of the first season a very long time ago and liked it alot, but at this point there's too many seasons to catch up on. I know Live Another Day is kinda self-contained, but I'm a crazy completionist.
-Shows I liked a little more than you seemed to: MAD MEN!!!!!!!!!!!, Nathan For You, Orange is the New Black s2
-Shows I liked a little less than you seemed to: Fargo, Leftovers s1, Game of Thrones (s4 had some magnificent highs but it was way too disjointed for me), Person of Interest (I respect the craft but this one has always left me a little cold).
-Show you got exactly right: The Americans (because I think it was number 4 on my list last year too, lol)
-Shows that parts of the internet hate on but you're correct for liking them: latter era Homeland, The Walking Dead (if I recall correctly, 2014 was the show's best year imo. The 2015 run was not as consistent).
-It's funny you put The Newsroom in the "Just No" category because season 3 was my favorite season by a mile. I'd put it in the "Just No" category too, but still.
-Did you end up finishing Parasyte? I got a little bored in the middle so I stopped, but then I binged on the last few episodes or so and enjoyed it a little more. I still think its philosophizing about humanity is on the level of a middle schooler, but the animation sure was great! (speaking of great animation, have you been watching One Punch Man? It's delightful)
